I was in a major style rut. A thirty year old, same long black curly hair style rut. I felt the need for an absolute overhaul. I had been curious about the Brazilian Blowout for months, researching the product online, talking to people who have had it done, even watching youtube videos on the topic. I was skeptical about it, because of the formaldehyde scare, because of the cost, and also because of the fact that all of the photos I saw online were mostly caucasian women.

My hair is naturally curly. Some call it kinky. I am of North African descent (think Egyptian) and though I have a lot of hair, the texture of the individual strands is fine. When I would blow dry it myself, it would take at least an hour, plus extra time to flat iron, and at any suggestion of moisture it would frizz belligerently.

I first came across Jordana Lorraine when I was scouring a curly hair website for new anti-frizz products. She made some very intelligent comments on the site and posted a link to her website. After I clicked on it and read about her own experience with the Brazilian Blowout that it was something I needed to try.

I booked a consultation with her and was certain as I met her that she was trust worthy, experienced, and a hair perfectionist. Jordana is a curly girl herself who is a living breathing spokesmodel for the procedure she performs. It doesn't get better than that! During my consultation she did a little test patch to make sure that my skin wouldn't be irritated by the product.

I was anxious the day of the process. I had spent the past ten years mastering the way of my rebellious curls and was scared that I was getting into something over my head. Could a head of frizz free hair really be mine?????

Yes! Yes it can! It is! Here I sit, three weeks after the process, with hair that can be blown dry straight and frizz free in less than 15 minutes and can also be left to air dry for a frizz free crown of waves with relatively little effort. I am in hair heaven!

What's next for me? Bangs maybe. Perhaps a bob for fall. With Jordana and Brazilian Blowout on my side I feel like a new woman with a whole new world of possibilities on the hair horizon!”

UPDATE:

I have just made the transition back to curly...it's 6 weeks after the process and I love how it's growing out!”
